Last year Iran's security forces arrested Washington Post reporter Jason Rezaian, and held him without charge for eight months.
This week, he appeared before Tehran's secretive Revolutionary Court to face accusations of espionage.
Presiding over the court is one of Iran's most notorious hanging judges, Abolghasem Salavati.
