Armed Robberies Leave Six Dead, Seven Injured

Six people were killed and seven wounded during two armed robberies on Saturday, December 27 in Isfahan Province.

Isfahan’s chief of police Abdolreza Aqakhani confirmed reports that at least six people — three policemen, two civilians and one of the thieves —  lost their lives in the incidents, which took place in the cities of Khomein and Golpayegan.

Isfahan Metropolis News Agency (IMNA) reported that five people died during an armed robbery at a bank in Khomein. Three policemen and two civilians lost their lives during the attack. One of the criminals was injured and detained, but the four remaining thieves escaped.

In a separate incident, Isfahan’s Iranian Labor News Agency reported that three thieves attempted a robbery in Golpayegan after targeting neighboring towns. One was shot and killed during a clash with security forced; two others fled the scene.
