Families of those killed in Iran's 1988 wave of political executions still gather every year to commemorate their loved ones, who were killed by the Iranian regime mainly for their political and religious beliefs. On Friday, August 28, the authorities tried to disperse gatherings to mark 32 years since this untold atrocity. But in Khavaran, where one of the mass graves were located, fresh flowers have been laid in memory of some of those who lost their lives.
