Scientific archaeological excavation projects began on the ancient hill of Shahneh Poshteh, in the western area of Babol City in Mazandaran province, in the winter of 2017. So far 22 skeletons have been identified on the sites along with an array of historical artifacts. The investigation is still ongoing.
