Boutique store mannequins were once a vibrant and colorful addition to Iran's urban settings. In recent weeks these still and silent figurines had been spotted wearing masks as well as the finest clothes: in solidarity, or perhaps as a warning. But with shops and non-essential businesses have been shut down amid the coronavirus pandemic, the mannequins have now been covered up to protect against dust and dirt. For the time being they sit shrouded in darkness, all but forgotten.
