The lives of Lors, an Iranian tribe of five million who live in western and southwestern Iran, is closely intertwined with music and rhythm. Dancing to the sound of drums and sorna, a traditional wind instrument, is an integral part of Lor weddings. Their colorful dresses are also a key part of their identity — not only at weddings but also in their everyday lives.
Recently, the father of a groom in Khorramabad, the capital of Lorestan Province, decided to hold his son’s wedding in the most traditional way, determined to show pride in Lor identity and culture and to make sure the ceremony was a feast for the eye as well.
