In springtime, fields of fritillary can be seen in various parts of Iran, including in Isfahan province and in the middle of the Zagros mountains, just south of the province. The flowers are known in Iran as “reverse tulips,” and they are also known as “snake’s head fritillaries,” “chequered daffodil” or “chequered lily.” This field in Golestan-Kooh, near Khansar in Isfahan province, has become popular with tourists, who come to the area to take in the wonders of spring.
