The villagers of Tajmir in the province of South Khorasan near Iran’s border with Afghanistan take pride in one of the area’s best-loved handicrafts, the Tajmiri cloth doll. UNESCO will soon recognize the traditional dolls, which are made and sold by the villagers, on its register of unique artisanal crafts and designs.
