Meteor watchers around the world have been taking in dramatic displays of shooting stars and even fireballs over the last few days. Iran's deserts have proved to be some of the most stunning locations for viewing the Perseid Meteor showers, despite the existence of a nearly-full moon this year. The meteors are the debris of the Swift–Tuttle comet, and the showers can usually be seen each year in August.
