As part of week-long commemorations of the Iran-Iraq war, the city of Mashhad has set up a "revolutionary funfair" in the city's Koohsangi district. The fair was set up to educate children between eight and thirteen years old about the war, and about hostilities Iran faces today. Children are encouraged to dress up as soldiers and take part in a series of 12 re-enactments led by adults, all of which present a range of different obstacles and scenarios and invite children to shoot imaginary enemies. Among the modern foes presented are Israeli president Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel and the United States.
