Air pollution has reached dangerous levels in Tehran again, prompting some residents to wear face masks or remain indoors. A fine layer of dust settled over the rooftops of the capital on January 22, and could be seen on the leaves of plants in some public spaces. Tehran is one of the most polluted cities in the world, and there were similar reports of bad air quality in October 2014.
