The bridge connects all the corners of the junction. When standing on the bridge and looking to the south, I can see a road with lots of bridal dress shops. On the right side of the road is an old building behind lines of trees, a building that doesn’t look like it belongs in Tehran.

It’s probably the unique architecture that gives me this feeling. Who lives in these buildings— with their windows all decorated with bridal gowns—is a mystery.

As Bahman Jalali once said, the dresses are like ghosts looking down at us from the windows. I walked into one building and saw young men making dresses to fulfil the dreams of imaginary girls who will wear them for only one day. A hall with many wedding dresses, an unknown, strange and silent space. Mokhber Ol Doleh Bazaar is definitely a man’s place with a feminine look to it. A center for bridal dresses with the sound of old men’s radios and the jokes of young tailor boys.
