A women’s rights activist based in Tehran is understood to have been in detention for the past 20 days.
A source told OstanWire that Tahmineh Mofidi was arrested in front of her home on January 2 this year by the Revolutionary Guards’ intelligence organization.
She was later reportedly transferred to Ward 2A of Evin Prison. Her family have received no news of the charges against her.
Mohfidi has previously worked with Iranian publications including Shahrvand and Aftab-e Yazd newspapers. It is not yet clear why she was suddenly detained.
