Former Iranian prime minister and leader of Iran’s Green Movement Mir Hossein Mousavi has been admitted to hospital with a reported heart condition.
Intelligence officers transferred Mousavi, who is currently under house arrest, to hospital earlier today according to tweets and Facebook messages posted by his daughters, Narges Mousavi and Kokab Mousavi. His family was not allowed to accompany him.
Narges Mousavi said on Facebook that security guards had repeatedly beaten her father since April 17th. She also reported that her Viber connection with him had been lost and she was not able to contact him, which she believed was connected to his health condition.
Kokab Mousavi referred to intelligence officers as “dirty, shameless and faithless kidnappers” on Facebook, accusing them of trying to kill her father. “We are tired of this,” she posted. “We are tired of your cruelty.”
It’s the fifth time Mousavi has been admitted to hospital for a heart condition since his period of house arrest began two years ago.
