Despite the publication of reports by two separate government departments — the Ministry of intelligence and the Ministry of Justice — President Rouhani's advisor on women and family admitted that they were no closer to finding out who was responsible for the recent acid attacks in Isfahan. Amid speculation that the attacks against women were carried out by extremist vigilante groups, Shahindokht Mollaverdi said that investigations had failed to reveal significant clues to confirm this or any other theory.
