Akhtar Street
The imprisoned opposition leaders Mehdi Karroubi, Mir Hossein Mousavi, and Zahra Rahnavard, are being kept by Iranian authorities on 'Akhtar Street,' and the website Kalame reported recently that their conditions have become more 'securitised.' Although all expecations held that President Hassan Rouhani would manage to secure their release, one year into his term this has proven insurmountable. The cartoon reminds us of the general tendency in the Iranian government to forget Mousavi and Rahnavard.
