Iranian journalist Marzieh Rasouli was summoned to Evin prison on Tuesday, 8 July, after being informed that she faced a two-year prison sentence and a punishment of 50 lashes for spreading propaganda and "disturbing the public order". The journalist, who has worked for the Iranian Students News Agency and well known reformist newspapers Shargh and Etemad, reported news of her summons on Twitter.
Rasouli was arrested in 2012 and detained for six weeks, after which she was relased on a 300 million toman bail. The recent arrest relates to the previous charges against her.
In May, Saba Azarpeik, political correspondent for Etemad, was also arrested.
