This is my, satirical, take on a billboard image in the capital city of Tehran. It encourages people to have bigger families: “One flower a spring does not make: More Children, Happier Life.”
The poster portrays a family of six who are merrily pedaling a six-sitter bicycle. The mother is absent, perhaps because of religious restrictions on bicycle riding for women, or maybe she is pregnant with yet another child and has been banished to a corner of the house. The sole girl has been put on the last seat so that if she utters a word she would be sent home to her mother.
I just imagined that under the current economic and social conditions in Iran, what would happen to such families.
