Carlos Queiroz had plenty of praise for Japan’s national team during a pre-game press conference in Dubai ahead of the Iran-Japan game on January 28. "We will play against the most successful team in Asia tomorrow,” he told reporters. "They have won this tournament four times and have a good record at the World Cup as well. I'm also honored and grateful for having worked in this country for two years.” He said Team Melli was ready to play the “great team,” adding that he had no doubt the squad, with their agility and “high speed" would launch “dangerous attacks” against his players.
Team Melli's captain, Masoud Shojaei, also attended the press conference.
