Experimental Physicist Omid Kokabee, aged 35, was arrested on January 30, 2011 while he was visiting family in Iran. He was later sentenced to 10 years for "communicating with a hostile government".
In a letter from prison, Kokabee said authorities tried to force him to act against the best interests of Iran and the world. Since 2005, he said, Iran's military and security agencies wanted him to work on nuclear and military projects.
"Whenever I think about my past, I feel it was all a dream," says Omid Kokabee. "All that travel, all those classes and labs, those experiments and modern science."
