Musa Rafizada worked as a journalist in Afghanistan for eight years. But due to threats because of his work, he was forced to leave Kabul in January 2016. He has now sought asylum in Germany.
In his message to the torturer, Rafizada talks about the many difficulties of being a journalist in Afghanistan. People who tell the truth, he says, face constant threats from the Taliban, police officers and security forces. He addresses the Taliban, whose threats forced him into exile. “Know that threatening me, or even killing a journalist, will not stop the journalism community,” he says.
