The fourth Reyhaneh al Nabi Tournament, named after the daughter of the prophet Muhammad, was held in Tehran earlier this week. Two-thousand female revolutionary guard athletes took part in the event. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) said that the main objective of the tournament was to identify athletic potentials of its female members and strengthening their physical abilities. The athletes took part in seven sporting competitions: karate, taekwondo, self-defense, ping pong, swimming, physical preparedness and shooting.
